Exercise: AFD Week: 5/24/04 Week: 5/28/04 Week: 6/1/04 During the first week of closure, the employees are getting the building ready for the 2008 Alaska Custom Car & Cycle Show. The show features Street Rods, Muscle & Custom Cars, Exotics, Antiques, Classics, Imports, Trucks, Custom Bikes, plus lots more-something for everyone. The show schedule is: Friday, May 2 @ 5:00pm - 10:00pm; Saturday, May 3 @ 10:00am - 10:00pm and Sunday, May 4 @ 10:00am - 6:00pm. General Admission $8.00, Students/Military/Seniors $6.00 and children 10 & under free with adult. Melting ice requires manpower and a skid loader to remove it from the rink floor. The process starts Friday night and continues to early afternoon Saturday. On the last day of skating, the ice was 1 3/8" to 3/4" thick. The rink floor is painted white with a sealer that helps protect the concrete. The blue & red lines are tissue paper that add to the mess at meltdown. |
